There is some positive news on the Paul George injury front.

George exited his Philadelphia 76ers’ preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night after hyperextending his knee during the second quarter.

Although the injury did not look great, things appear to be OK.

The 76ers shared an update Tuesday, saying that an MRI revealed no structural damage in George’s knee. The veteran has a bone bruise and will be out at least one week.

The 34-year-old George missed time in each of his five seasons with the L.A. Clippers, so injuries are nothing new for him. The 76ers knew that injuries were a risk when they signed George this offseason, but they still took the chance.

George averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 74 contests last season. He’s beginning a four-year, $211 million contract.
