Yankees star gives Royals bulletin-board material ahead of ALDS Game 3

Thanks to a four-run fourth-inning outburst and solid pitching, the Kansas City Royals knotted up their American League Division Series with the New York Yankees on Monday night with a 4-2 victory

With the Royals gaining a split in the Bronx, the series now shifts back to Kansas City for Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Thursday night, respectively.

However, while the Royals were celebrating the victory, one of the big bats in the Yankees lineup was providing perhaps some extra momentum for Kansas City ahead of the trip back to the Midwest.

"It still feels the same, that we're going to win it," New York's Jazz Chisholm Jr. said after the game, via Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. "I don't feel like anybody feels any different. We're going to go out there and do our thing still; we still don't feel like any team is better than us. We had a lot of missed opportunities tonight, so they just got lucky."

Chisholm certainly contributed to New York's cause on Monday night, slugging a ninth-inning solo home run. However, that was his only hit of the evening as Kansas City pitchers scattered seven hits (six singles and Chisholm's homer) throughout the night and did not allow a Yankees batter to have more than one hit. Also, outside of Chisholm's late home run, New York runners never reached second base past the third inning.

New York also went 1-for-6 on the night with runners in scoring position. While Chisholm may call the Royals "lucky" for that, it can certainly also be seen as Kansas City pitchers making their pitches when needed to get out of any jams.

With the postseason returning to Kansas City on Wednesday night for the first time since the Royals won the 2015 World Series, the atmosphere at Kauffman Stadium was already expected to be "electric," according to star shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.

With a spicy quote from Chisholm now added into the mix, Royals fans will likely be even more ready to let the Yankees know their feelings about being called "lucky" to get that Game 2 win.
