The New York Knicks pushed all their chips to the middle this summer. They acquired Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns to supercharge their roster. Those acquisitions come just months after the Knicks brought OG Anunoby to New York and subsequently re-signed him to a long-term deal.
Tom Thibodeau now has one of the strongest rosters in the NBA. Towns' addition will allow the Knicks to match Boston's elite five-out spacing, while the team's defensive identity will be the bedrock of their approach.
Nevertheless, Thibodeau's minutes management will again be front and center of the fanbase's thoughts. The veteran head coach is known for sticking with a more minute rotation than most. He plays his best guys for significant minutes, night after night. While the results speak for themselves, Thibodeau's teams often fade during the playoffs.
As such, the Knicks' biggest flaw could potentially be the head coach's commitment to overplaying his guys during the regular season.
"You have to talk to Thibodeau and setup a new plan with minutes management."

The Knicks roster is as talented as it is deep. There are genuine difference-makers at every position and some exciting developmental talent. If Thibodeau can expand his rotation for most of the regular season, a fresh New York roster could become a postseason juggernaut.
Unfortunately for New York, Thibodeau may be ready to stick to his guns. His approach has brought significant success to the Knicks franchise. He's been a core part of their rebuild and is why they've retained so many talented players.
If the Knicks burn out during the postseason again or suffer injuries due to the high workload, Thibodeau will have no choice but to change his approach. For now, though, he will likely make one last gamble with his current system.
