Fantasy fallers: Players to avoid in Week 7

Every NFL season has its share of ups and downs, but from a fantasy perspective, these players should be down and out of your lineup this week. (Points and projections courtesy Yahoo Sports)

Justice Hill (RB) Baltimore Ravens

Derrick Henry leads NFL ball-carriers with 119 attempts, 704 yards and eight touchdowns which doesn’t leave much room for anyone else. But as the Ravens' No. 2 running back, Hill showed promise as a pass-catcher with 16 catches for 161 yards in the team’s first four games.

His best effort came in Week 4 when Hill caught six passes for 78 yards and 21.6 fantasy points. Since then he’s had 19 yards on the ground and 10 yards through the air. He had one carry and one target against the Commanders last week, gaining two yards on each play.

Managers looking to use Hill as a handcuff to Henry can easily find better options ahead of Baltimore's matchup with Tampa Bay on "Monday Night Football."

Jerome Ford (RB) Cleveland Browns

With perennial Pro Bowler Nick Chubb sidelined with a knee injury, Ford had an excellent start to the season with 19 touches for 69 yards and a score against the Cowboys in the team’s opening game. He finished just outside the top 10 with 18.9 fantasy points in Week 1 but hasn’t reached that number since.

Chubb has a chance to play after missing six games which doesn’t bode well for Ford after he suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Philadelphia. Ford sat out Wednesday’s practice and is considered day-to-day according to ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. Regardless, with Chubb on the way back, Ford should be on the way out of lineups this week.

Dalton Schultz (TE) Houston

Schultz owners hoping to see a bump with Nico Collins on the IR last week were sorely disappointed with 6.7 fantasy points from the Texans' 28-year-old tight end. Collins missed his first game of the season after suffering a hamstring injury against the Bills in Week 5.

The former Dallas Cowboy finished 2023 as a top-10 fantasy tight end with 150.5 points but he’s yet to top seven points in any game this year. Some may be tempted to start Schultz this week against a Green Bay defense allowing the third-most fantasy points per game (13.8) to tight ends but he already scored under five points against the Colts and Vikings suspect secondarys.

Schultz is still rostered in 69% of Yahoo leagues although another poor performance in Week 7 could be the last straw for most fantasy managers.
