Playoff pumpkin, but make it fashion.
At least, that was the non-verbal message Pete Alonso gave in his Wednesday presser when he met the media sporting attire celebrating one of the New York Mets' postseason good luck charms.
The slugger rocked a sweatshirt that read "PLAYOFF PUMPKIN" atop a photo of himself in uniform holding up the now-infamous gourd in one hand.

The pumpkin is the unlikely talisman for the Mets' postseason run past the wild-card round since 2015.
"I carry it with me. It could be destroyed in my luggage," the first baseman said ahead of Game 3 of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Pete Alonso says the playoff pumpkin is in his locker and he takes it with him to the hotel on the road:

Alonso, 29, sent Mets fans into a frenzy in late September when he picked the small pumpkin at a Wisconsin farm while the Mets played the Milwaukee Brewers in the wild-card round. The playoff pumpkin has since become a sign of good juju.
“We’re not afraid to embrace the fun part of the game. It’s not just business. The game is a lot more than just trying to win or lose. You’re trying to enjoy the ride with the group that you’re with," Alonso told the Associated Press on Oct. 10.
