Point guard Jalen Reece is a big-time commitment for LSU basketball. There's no doubt about it.
Reece, a four-star point guard from Orlando, Florida, announced his commitment to LSU on Wednesday. He chose the Tigers over Providence and Cincinnati, though he has over 15 offers to his name.

Reece explained his commitment to 247Sports, saying, "I just felt like it was the best opportunity for me for what I want to be and go to the NBA, of course. I just felt like it was a great atmosphere and a great environment."'
The NBA pipeline for LSU was a big reason for Reece's commitment. He specifically mentioned Ben Simmons, former No. 1 overall pick out of LSU (2016 NBA Draft) and Antonio Blakeney, who had a cup of coffee in the league with the Chicago Bulls.
"Just knowing that players like Antonio Blakeney and Ben Simmons went there, those are people I look up to," Reece told On3. "Knowing that it's my turn to go and put the jersey on and just having the ability to go over there and play. (Antonio Blakeney) means a lot to me personally. That’s like my big brother. I remember last year he told me to always be the last one out of the gym. He’s given me a lot of tricks and tips and I work out with him in the summer. I love our relationship.”
LSU seems like a natural fit for Reece, and the Tigers are getting quite a player. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's the No. 10 point guard recruit in the country.
