This continues my series of potential free agent targets for the Braves, breaking it down by position. If you missed any of the previous parts, follow the links below.

Braves Free Agent Targets: Right Field

Outfield is actually the one area I could see the Braves pouring significant dollars into this offseason. Outside of Michael Harris II, there are a lot of unknowns, and unlike the shortstop position, there are plenty of options to fill the void.

Does that mean the Braves will be in on the Juan Soto sweepstakes? Highly unlikely, but it’s fun to dream. Just imagine an outfield of Michael Harris, Juan Soto, and Ronald Acuña Jr. roaming Truist Park 81+ nights a year.

More realistically, Anthony Santander and Teoscar Hernandez make a lot of sense for the Braves. Santander is a switch hitter that is coming off a career-high 44 homers, and Hernandez has at least 29 homers in each of the last four seasons. Both will be highly coveted players this offseason, but the Braves certainly should have enough money to get involved in those negotiations if they desire.

Max Kepler wouldn’t be a terrible consolation prize if the Braves are looking for a candidate that could be interested in a one-year, prove-it contract. The longtime Twins outfielder struggled this year to the tune of a .682 OPS but hit 24 homers with an .816 OPS in 2023.

Randal Grichuk is another high quality veteran option that shouldn’t cost too much to acquire if the Braves are looking for more of a stopgap option. He’s coming off a season in which he hit .291 with an .875 OPS for the Diamondbacks over 106 games. Grichuk is also a guy that terrorizes left-handed pitching, boasting an .833 OPS for his career against southpaws.
