Senators’ Tim Stutzle has arrived – and 100 points this year is a real possibility
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Tim Stutzle has gotten off to a red-hot start for the Ottawa Senators this season. Scoring twice in their regular-season opener to the Florida Panthers, he would add another goal against the Montreal Canadiens and follow that with a three-assist night against the Los Angeles Kings last Monday.

It’s very early in the 2024-25 campaign, but with six points in his first three games, Stutzle looks like a man on a mission and could very well be on his way to having a career year. His best statistical campaign came in 2022-23, scoring 39 goals and 51 assists for 90 points – could he break that this season?

On Thursday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk play “The Ratings Game,” where Tyler throws out his most outlandish takes and Frank ranks them on a scale of one to 10, with 10 being thrown out the window and one meaning there’s some juice to it (remember: Tyler is in character in this segment).

Tyler Yaremchuk: Tim Stutzle has arrived! Forget 82 points, forget his career high of 90, Tim Stutzle will have 100 points this year!

Frank Seravalli: I think that is a very real possibility. I spent a day in Ottawa during training camp, and it’s abundantly clear that Stutzle is just starting to scratch the surface. I know you threw that out there as a ridiculous take, but I think that is totally achievable.

He’s someone who is far and away the most talented player on that team, which says a lot because there’s a lot of skilled players. He’s just getting to that stage of his career where he’s starting to find some consistency. I would take that bet.

Tyler Yaremchuk: So you’re closer to the one or the two on the scale?

Frank Seravalli: Oh that’s a one.
