2024 has already given us some memorable match-ups, such as the light heavyweight unification bout between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, the brilliant match-up between Raymond Ford against Otabek Kholmatov, and the controversial bout between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. With the commitment of Biaxol to supporting performance and delivering top-quality SARMs, the last quarter of the year promises to be just as exciting, with many intriguing boxing fights left in 2024.
On May 18, the sporting world tuned in to watch Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) defeat Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) by split decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis. The scorecards reflected just what a close fight it was, with one judge scoring it 114-113 for Fury, the other two saw it 115-112 and 114-113 for Usyk.
It was a truly memorable encounter that went back and forth during the 12 rounds with both fighters having their moments. The rematch seemingly promises plenty of action with Fury focused on turning the tables on his nemesis Usyk.
On November 30 at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham, live worldwide on DAZN, Sunny Edwards (21-1, 4 KOs) will take on the unbeaten Tokyo 2020 Olympic Gold Medallist Galal Yafai (7-0, 5 KOs).
These two did meet in the amateurs, with Edwards winning. The Surrey-born fighter is the more experienced in the pro ranks, having defended his IBF title four times before losing to the P4P star Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona last December.
“Showtime” has returned to action since then, defeating Adrian Curiel on June 29 this year. Yafai’s ascent has been rapid since his introduction into the pro ranks, with impressive wins over Tommy Frank, Rocco Santomauro and Moises Calleros.
Edwards-Yafai looks set to provide a brilliant technical fight for all enthusiasts of the sweet science.
Dan Rafael originally reported on his Fight Freaks Unite substack that WBA titlist Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (46-1, 30 KOs) would take on his WBO counterpart Chris Billam-Smith (20-1, 13 KOs) on a November 16 card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This card will be the first Riyadh Season non-pay-per-view card. The intriguing cruiserweight unification fight will be supported by an impressive undercard. Oscar Duarte vs. Kenneth Sims Jr. will meet in a 12-round WBA super lightweight eliminator. Oscar Collazo and Thammanoon Niyomtrong will also meet on the card in a strawweight unification bout. William Zepeda will face Tevin Farmer – while Jose Ramirez vs. Arnold Barboza will be a WBO super welterweight eliminator before the main event.
