Los Angeles Rams lineman Conor McDermott has become the latest victim of theft in the Los Angeles area. His team-issued iPad was stolen from his car while parked in a residential neighborhood. The exact location of the crime has not been disclosed.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made. McDermott is understandably upset about the theft, not only due to the monetary value of the iPad but also because of the sensitive information it contained.

Team-issued iPads are used by players to study game plans, watch practice footage, and prepare for games. However, Apple’s technology allows users to remotely wipe their devices in case of theft, ensuring that the stolen data remains protected.

McDermott, a sixth-round draft pick in 2017 from the UCLA Bruins, has played for the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, and New England Patriots before joining the Rams this offseason. The team added him at the beginning of August after the line was hit with a slew of injuries. He was subsequently moved to the injured reserve ahead of the season.

At the time of the writing of this article, no arrests have been made, but the LAPD is working to track down the wrongdoer.

When playing for the Jets in 2021 McDermott had a one-yard touchdown reception.

The Rams are currently 1-4 on the season and have faced numerous challenges. The team is currently on a bye week and will look to regroup and improve their performance in the coming weeks.
