The Los Angeles Angels 2023 season ended in heartbreak, as it has for the past decade. The team finished with a 73-89 record and missed the playoffs for the ninth year in a row. If that wasn’t enough to send fans into a tailspin, generational two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani left Anaheim to join the in-state rival Los Angeles Dodgers in a record-shattering 10-year $700,000 deal. But all is not lost.
The Angels still have another generational talent on the roster in Mike Trout. The center fielder is a three-time American League Most Valuable Player, an 11-time MLB All-Star and nine-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award. Together with a mix of veterans and emerging talent like Anthony Rendon, Logan O'Hoppe and Zach Neto, the Angels are hoping to end their playoff drought in 2024.
Here’s how to watch the Los Angeles Angels in pursuit of a playoff berth.
Los Angeles Angels fans can catch nationally televised games on ESPN, Fox, Fox Sports 1 (FS1), MLB Network, and TBS. Bally Sports West is the team’s regional sports network (RSN), which provides extensive local coverage. If you reside outside California, an MLB TV subscription will help you keep up with the team.

DIRECTV STREAM is one of the best live TV streaming services for Los Angeles Angels fans. Subscribers have access to all nationally televised games on ESPN, Fox, FS1 and TBS as part of the Entertainment plan. An upgrade to the Choice plan introduces the MLB Network for extra baseball analysis, highlights, and games. More importantly, fans in the Los Angeles area unlock Bally Sports West, the local RSN. And while Fubo charges a regional sports fee, DIRECTV STREAM doesn’t add on the extra charge.
With the higher-tiered plans, you can watch more sports networks, including the Big Ten, CBS, ESPNU, ESPNews, Fox Sports 2, NBA TV, NHL Network, SEC and Tennis Channel. If you can’t catch a game in real-time, DIRECTV STREAM also has unlimited Cloud DVR.
Apart from DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo is the next best option for Los Angeles Angels loyalists. Fubo has established itself as a sports juggernaut since its launch. Initially, it was soccer-centric but now it’s a well-rounded platform for all sports fans. The Pro plan boasts ESPN, Fox, FS1 and Bally Sports West right out of the gate. One caveat is the regional sports fee of $11-$14 per month, depending on your location.
MLB Network is part of the Elite plan, if you’re looking for additional baseball coverage. Fubo does not include TBS, which is a disappointment. However, subscribers get unlimited DVR storage and up to 10 streams at home.
Hulu + Live TV is not usually top of mind for sports coverage but baseball fans shouldn’t overlook the streamer. ESPN, Fox, FS1, MLB Network and TBS are all part of the more than 90 channels available. The platform is missing Bally Sports West. Unlike the other live TV streaming services, Hulu + Live TV doesn’t offer multiple plans outside of ad-free and ad-supported.
Hulu’s real value is in its bundle partners, Disney Plus and ESPN Plus, which add major franchises like the MCU, Disney classics, ESPN’s “30 for 30” library and the UFC. Hulu + Live TV also has unlimited DVR storage.
Sling TV sets itself apart from other live TV streaming services with its wallet-friendly plans, Orange and Blue. Unfortunately, you won’t find everything you need as a baseball fan in either plan. That’s where the hybrid Orange & Blue plan comes in. By combining the two, you’lll get access to ESPN, Fox (in some areas), FS1 and TBS. There are no RSNs but for an extra $15 per month, the Sports Extra adds MLB Network and two dozen other sports channels.
By far the biggest drawback of the service is the limited 50 hours of DVR storage. However, if cost consciousness is your priority, Sling TV does the job.
ESPN, Fox, FS1 and TBS are all part of YouTube TV's 100+ channel basic plan, so Los Angeles Angels fans will not miss a national broadcast. However, there are a couple of downsides. Neither MLB Network nor Bally Sports West are available on YouTube TV. An MLB TV subscription is your best bet for out-of-market games if you are not in the Los Angeles area.
Enjoy baseball and other sports on a wide variety of networks, including ESPN2, Fox Sports 2, NBA TV, NFL Network, TNT, USA Network and many more. With unlimited DVR storage, you can save games for later viewing.
Apple TV+ brought its Friday night MLB coverage back for a third season, with a doubleheader each weekend. The Los Angeles Angels are scheduled to make at least three appearances through the first half of the season. The broadcast is rife with fan-friendly features like sweeping drone shots and field mics.
With an MLB.TV subscription, you will not need to be a Los Angeles resident to enjoy the games. Users can watch live games from outside LA without worrying about blackouts impacting their area. You have three options: an Angels-only stream, an MLB stream and a hybrid that lets you watch both your local team and the league's out-of-market games. You can test out MLB.TV with a free trial before settling on a long-term plan. Visit MLB.TV to sign up, or subscribe to Amazon Prime Video Channels.
Local Los Angeles Angels coverage is available on Bally Sports West. DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo are the only two streaming services that carry this RSN.
Hulu + Live TV includes several channels that offer baseball coverage. Angels fans can follow the team on ESPN, Fox, FS1 and TBS.
Apple TV+ features “Friday Night Baseball” as part of its programming. Subscribers can enjoy two doubleheaders each Friday throughout the season.
