After the Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers ended their season for a second consecutive year, the Boston Bruins are hoping for a more successful outcome in the 2024 season. And no one is more committed to that goal than David Pastrnak, who led the Bruins last year in goals, assists and points.
During the off-season, the team made a few notable pickups, including center Elias Lindholm and defenseman Nikita Zadorov. But it also earned headlines for another big reason: the ongoing contract negotiations with goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Going into the preseason, the Bruins still haven’t reached an agreement with Swayman, casting doubt over his future in Boston.
Fans of the black and gold don’t need a cable subscription to keep up with the team this season. Instead, they can sign up for one of the following live TV streaming services to catch Bruins games in 2024.
This year, Bruins games will be broadcast on several channels, including ABC, ESPN, NESN and NHL Network. You’ll also find a few games streaming on Max and ESPN Plus. Here’s the full list of channels that will show the team’s games this season, as well as the streaming services that carry these networks.

DIRECTV STREAM is an excellent choice for Bruins fans who want to catch as many games as possible this season. Every plan comes with ABC, ESPN and TNT, along with other local channels and sports networks, including Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and ESPN2.
DIRECTV STREAM’s three higher-tier plans also offer TruTV, NHL Network and NESN (if you’re in the Boston TV market). With one of these plans, you’ll get other sports channels, too, including the ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPNU, Fox Sports 2 (FS2), NBA TV, NFL Network and NBC Sports Boston (again, only if you’re within the local TV market).
On top of that, DIRECTV STREAM subscribers get unlimited DVR storage, so if you can’t tune into live Bruins games, you can record them and watch them back on your own time.
Fubo is another service that you can use to stream Boston Bruins games this year. It has three plan options (Pro, Elite and Deluxe), each of which includes ABC and ESPN. When you sign up for an Elite or Deluxe plan (or bundle your Pro plan with a sports add-on), you’ll also get access to NESN and NHL Network.
While Fubo may not carry all of the channels you need to watch Boston hockey (including TNT and truTV), it does have a variety of other sports-focused networks. For example, every Fubo plan comes with the four major local channels, as well as beIN SPORTS, CBS Sports Network ESPN2, FS1, FS2 and NFL Network. If you live in the Boston TV market, you can also get NBC Sports Boston.
Want more sports content? Fubo has several add-ons to choose from, including MLB.TV, NBA League Pass, Sports Plus with NFL RedZone and International Sports Plus. Plus, Fubo gives subscribers unlimited DVR space to record games, shows, movies and other programs.
With a Hulu + Live TV plan, you’ll get a handful of the channels that broadcast Bruins games, including ABC, ESPN and TNT. However, you won’t be able to watch the team when they play on NESN or NHL Network since these channels aren’t available on the streaming service.
The Hulu + Live TV channel lineup also includes the major local networks and several other popular sports channels. As a subscriber, you’ll get the ACC Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, FS1, FS2, NBC Sports Boston, NFL Network and more. In addition, you can bundle your base plan with the Sports Add-on, which offers MLB StrikeZone, NFL RedZone and more.
Like most of the other providers on this list, Hulu + Live TV plans come with unlimited DVR. However, they offer something that their competitors don’t: access to Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu’s vast library of on-demand content.
Sling TV is a lower-cost streaming service that brings Boston hockey to you — with no cable subscription necessary. There are three Sling TV plans to choose from (Sling Orange, Sling Blue or Sling Orange & Blue), each of which has at least one channel that airs Bruins games. For example, Sling Orange has ESPN and TNT, while Sling Blue carries TruTV, TNT and ABC (in select markets only — not including Boston). Sling Orange & Blue includes all of these channels.
To get NHL Network on Sling TV, you’ll need to sign up for the Sports Extra add-on. In this add-on, you’ll also find a mix of other sports channels, like beIN SPORTS, MLB Network, NBA TV and Tennis Channel. Unfortunately, none of the Sling plans or add-ons include NESN.
Sling TV doesn’t offer as much DVR space as its competitors (plans come with 50 hours of storage), but its plans are much cheaper than the others on this list.
YouTube TV gives you access to four of the channels that will broadcast the Bruins in 2024: ABC, ESPN, TNT and TruTV. However, YouTube TV doesn’t carry NESN or NHL Network, so subscribers can’t watch the games that air on those networks.
With that said, YouTube TV still has quite a bit to offer for sports fans. Its base plan comes with the main local networks and a selection of sports channels, including the ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN2, ESPNU, FS1, FS2, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Boston, NFL Network and NBA TV. For more sports programming, you can pair this plan with YouTube TV’s sports add-on to get beIN SPORTS, NFL RedZone, VSiN and more.
YouTube TV’s unlimited DVR feature lets you record as many games, TV series and movies as you’d like. It also includes individual DVR libraries for every user on your account.
ESPN Plus is a little different from the other sports streaming services on this list. While it doesn’t have a channel lineup like the other providers we’ve featured, it does broadcast some live sports — including select Bruins games — and features exclusive programming and other on-demand content from ESPN.
Interested in ESPN Plus? You can purchase a standalone subscription or sign up for the Disney Bundle (which also includes Disney Plus and Hulu or Hulu + Live TV). Heads up, though: The standalone plan doesn’t include DVR storage.
HBO’s streaming service is getting into the sports game with its B/R Sports add-on, which Max is adding to subscriptions for no additional cost for a limited time. With the add-on, you’ll be able to watch 300 live games and matches each year, including select games from the NHL regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Max’s sports coverage with the B/R add-on mostly consists of select events airing on TBS, TNT and TruTV.
Without cable, you can use a live TV streaming service like DIRECTV STREAM or Fubo to watch Bruins games. You can also catch certain games on ESPN Plus or Max.
You can watch some Bruins games for free by signing up for a free trial with a live TV streaming service. Not all providers have free trial offers, but Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV are a couple of services that do.
In the 2024-25 season, the Boston Bruins will play on several different networks, including ABC, ESPN, NESN and NHL Network. If you don’t have cable, you can use a streaming service to watch these channels.
