Stan Van Gundy is still upset

Van Gundy coached with the Heat for 12 years. That’s not nothing. He took the Heat to the Conference Finals in 2005 and decided to step away to be with family? No. Sorry. Look at this write up here in Hot Hot Hoops on his interview with Barry Jackson from the Herald. I totally disagree that the Heat roster is a play-in roster. I’ll tell you why.

Heat injuries and Jimmy Butler‘s Dad

The Heat were the only playoff team that was among the Top 5 teams in Most Player Games missed due to injury. Read my article here on our site about their injury problems. The Lakers were sixth. Also, Jimmy Butler’s father passed away in the middle of the season. It’s no one’s business which was why we didn’t learn it until this year. I challenge anyone to tell me that when they lost a loved one they weren’t gutshot. Read this article here on Bleacher Report.

Butler still won’t care about the regular season. He will be ready for the playoffs. Bam Adebayo will have a great season and carry the team. The power rotation of the squad is much improved. Nicola Jovic will have a great season also in his third year as a starter. Terry Rozier is in a “prove-it” year because he needs to show his production isn’t because he played in (bleh) Charlotte.

Stan Van Gundy hasn’t had coaching success elsewhere

Van Gundy took off as a Head Coach in Orlando. But, then had an awkward relationship with Dwight Howard and was let go. Here is an article on NBA.com that talks about Dwight Howard’s reaction to the “awkward hug (see above).” He spent five seasons in Detroit and qualified for one playoff appearance. Then he went to New Orleans and pfft.
