2024-25 Stanley Cup odds: Oilers, Panthers favored

The Florida Panthers look to defend their Stanley Cup title as the 2024-25 NHL season gets underway.

The reigning champs have the second-best odds (+1000), according to DraftKings. The Edmonton Oilers (+800), who the Panthers defeated last year to win their first championship, have the best odds.

Florida’s once again led by Sam Reinhart and Matthew Tkachuk. Reinhart paced the Panthers in points (94) and goals (57) while Tkachuk led them in assists (62) and ranked second in points (88). However, Florida lost several key pieces over the summer in Vladimir Tarasenko, Brandon Montour and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Meanwhile, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is once again vital to the Panthers’ success. The perennial Vezina Trophy contender’s already won it twice and was pivotal to the Stanley Cup run a year ago.

The Oilers are led by Connor McDavid, who’s favored (+150) to win the Hart Memorial Trophy, which is given to the league’s Most Valuable Player. Teammate Leon Draisaitl is also one of the favorites to win and has the fifth-best odds (+2000).

The Dallas Stars (+1100), New Jersey Devils (+1200), Toronto Maple Leafs (+1300), New York Rangers (+1300), Colorado Avalanche (+1300) and Carolina Hurricanes (+1300) are also among the favorites to win the crown.

However, the Nashville Predators (+1800) are a team many will have their eyes on after they made a splash over the offseason. The Predators added a pair of former 40-goal scorers in Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, as well as defenseman Brady Skjei.
