The Dallas Mavericks and TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA) added eight more stations to their television lineup, joining TEGNA’s six stations already owned by the media company. As a result, all of the Dallas Mavericks games that aren’t exclusively nationally televised will be broadcast free and over-the-air to around 14 million people in Texas.

The Mavericks and TEGNA’s new-look television lineup will start with the Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns game on October 26. The Mavericks’ pre-and post-game shows will also be available in most markets. Here’s everything you need to know.

Thoughts About TEGNA

The thoughts about TEGNA are generally positive. Take, for example, Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall’s thoughts about the Dallas Mavericks’ partnership with TEGNA. Marshall told Mavs.com, “Providing access to games has always been our top priority … We are thrilled to work with WFAA to bring more fun and excitement to all of our MFFLs across North Texas and beyond.”

TEGNA Senior Vice President, Media Operations Brad Ramsey told Mavs.com, “We’re thrilled by the positive response from fans and advertising partners as we gear up to significantly expand the reach of Mavs games … We are grateful to our partner stations from Gray, Nexstar, and Sinclair for helping us create more excitement, for more fans, in even more homes across Texas.”

President of Nexstar’s Broadcasting Division Andrew Alford told Mavs.com, “Nexstar is very excited to bring Dallas Mavericks basketball to viewers in three of its markets across Texas and Louisiana … We’re looking forward to a great NBA season for the team, and for our viewers and local advertisers in Shreveport, Wichita Falls, and Brownsville.”

New-Look TEGNA Station

In other news, the newly rebranded TEGNA station, KMPX Dallas-Fort Worth (Channel 29), will launch new programming on October 20 on top of the Mavericks games that weren’t exclusively televised nationally. And, on WFAA Dallas-Fort Worth (Channel 8), 15 or more Mavericks games will be broadcast for free and over-the-air.

The games broadcast on KFAA in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market will also be available through AT&T U-verse TV, Charter Spectrum, DIRECTV, DISH, Frontier Fiber Keller, Fubo, GEUS, Grande Communications, OneSource Communications, and Optimum. The games will also be broadcast on the TEGNA stations in Abilene (KXVA), Midland-Odessa (KWES), San Angelo (KIDY), Tyler (KYTX), and Waco (KCEN and KAGS).
