Wendell Carter Jr. is medically cleared from a serious injury after the Orlando Magic center sustained a sprained ankle in a pre-season game against the New Orleans Pelicans last week.

Carter, who recently signed a three-year, $59 million extension that locked him up with the Magic through the end of the 2028-29 season, was reportedly able to go through “live stuff” in practice, which is an indication that the injury is far from being serious.

Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. (sprained left ankle) is “doing good” and was “able to go through some live stuff” in practice Tuesday. Carter Jr. is going to play a huge part in the Magic’s continuous resurgence this season since he will serve as the anchor of the team’s defense that allowed 108.4 points per game on 47.4 FG% during the 2023-24 regular season and 95.9 points a game om 44 FG% in the postseason.

The Magic will wrap up their preseason schedule on October 18, Friday, against the Philadelphia 76ers.
