Gary Bettman & the NHL cancel Lightning Vs. Hurricanes game

Gary Bettman and the NHL have been tasked with some tough choices to start the season due to the situation involving Hurricane Milton.

This hurricane just ravaged Florida and while it was a Category 5, it was reduced to Category 3 once it made landfall. Having said that, it still did some damage to places like Tampa Bay. As a result, the NHL has made a drastic decision regarding this weekend's tilt between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Carolina Hurricanes.

The game was supposed to take place in Tampa Bay. As Chris Johnston reports, the game has been postponed and it remains to be seen when it will be played. Essentially, the league wants to give officials time to go in and clean up the town. It is the right choice for all involved.

The NHL has postponed Saturday's Lightning-Hurricanes game in Tampa because of recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton. The makeup date is 'TBD.'

Considering everything that has happened in Florida, this move is probably for the best. After all, you want people to be safe and accounted for, first and foremost. While Hurricane Milton was not as bad as some thought it would be, it did cause massive destruction. We just hope everyone remains safe and sound during this difficult time.
