Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins is looking to have a big season especially as the Bruins failed in the playoffs last year at the hands of the Florida Panthers.

In the first regular-season game, the Bruins lost by a score of 6-4 to the Panthers. There was a lot of bad blood in that game, and today, the Bruins and Panthers got to have a rematch. In the end, it was the Panthers who came out victorious yet again. Overall, they seem to be the better team and as defending Champs, they want to show off.

As for Marchand, he was out for blood today. At one point in the game, Nate Schmidt delivered a nice big hit on David Pastrnak. Marchand was livid an immediately jumped Schmidt, leading to a massive fight with bodies all over the place.

Sure, it was a way for Marchand to show his teammates that he cares. In that same breathe, it was also a bit of a boneheaded move. The hit on Pastrnak really wasn't dirty or significant enough to warrant this kind of massive reaction. One has to wonder what Marchand must have been thinking here.

Meanwhile, the Bruins continue to lose to superior teams. In order to be the best you have to beat the best and as it stands, the Bruins are not fitting that bill. Only time will tell whether or not they are able to get it together. Sure, they can beat the Montreal Canadiens. But good teams like the Panthers have their number.
