John Tavares has reportedly joined forces with Hollywood actor Russell Brand, promoting a mysterious amulet that blocks WiFi and 5G waves.
According to Jesse Marshall of The Athletic, former Leafs captain John Tavares has joined forces with actor Russell Brand in promoting the healing powers of a mysterious amulet that not only claims to block WiFi and 5G waves, but also heals wounds. The device, according to Marshall, is backed by people who believe in mind control and hilariously noted that he did not have this partnership on his NHL bingo card this season.
For his reported endorsement of the amulet, Tavares is being roasted online.
An image being circulated of a screenshot of the mysterious amulet's website shows a glowing endorsement from Tavares.
'As a professional athlete, I have to stay as healthy as possible and recover quickly when I get injured. So it's easy to understand why I've been relying on the Aires technology for about 4 years now and even approached the Aires team about representing them as an athlete and one of their happy customers.'
Tavares, who missed the home opener due to illness , returned to the lineup last night and scored a power-play goal, which had many on social media hilariously wondering if he used the amulet to get over his illness and if he let William Nylander use it to allow him to return after dealing with the same illness.
Tavares has yet to address the rumoured endorsement, but with it now going viral, it won't be a surprise if he is asked about it over the coming days after practice.
