20 animated houses we’d love to visit

If it were possible, we'd step into these 20 animated houses in an instant.

1 of 20

'SpongeBob SquarePants'

'SpongeBob SquarePants'
Nickelodeon via YouTube

SpongeBob SquarePants’ pineapple house is unassuming from the outside, but inside, it’s got all anyone could want: a cozy living room, an easy-to-use kitchen, and an insanely large library that can only be accessed through one entry point. We’d love to visit all the houses in Bikini Bottom, but SpongeBob’s tops the list.

'CatDog'

'CatDog'
Nickelodeon/NickToons via YouTube

The CatDog universe is an amazing place full of juxtapositions, as is their house. But the most intriguing part is the entrance to Winslow T. Oddfellow’s space. Oh, how much fun it would be to weasel down through that door.

'The Aristocats'

'The Aristocats'
Walt Disney Studios

The cats in The Aristocats weren’t dubbed that for nothing. They were living with true aristocrats, and their living quarters reflected it. We wouldn’t want to travel through the journey the cats went on when they were stolen, but we’d love to spend an afternoon in their mansion.

'Up'

'Up'
Pixar Studios

The Up house is arguably the most iconic animated house of all time. Even without balloons, it’s absolutely darling. It might not be a place you’d want to live long-term, but spending an afternoon there would be splendid.

'Hey Arnold!'

'Hey Arnold!'
Nickelodeon via YouTube

There’s one reason and one reason only to visit Arnold’s house: His bedroom. Every kid who grew up watching Hey Arnold! wanted to walk on that crazy carpet and look up through his windowed ceiling. It’s probably an awful environment to sleep in, but it’s still awesome.

'Frozen'

'Frozen'
Frozen Walt Disney Studios

We’d settle for visiting the palace that Anna and Elsa lived inside at the beginning of Frozen, but what we really want to see in real life is Elsa’s ice castle. It would be very chilly and probably hard to walk on, but it would be worth all the cold and slips.

'Lady and the Tramp'

'Lady and the Tramp'
Walt Disney Studios

Lady’s house in Lady and the Tramp is perfect. It’s got a well-manicured lawn and great architecture. It’s got a great porch and seems like a wonderful place for a dog to live. And if a dog is comfortable there, who’s to say humans wouldn’t be?

'Rugrats'

'Rugrats'
Nickelodeon via IMDb

Something about the Pickles’ house on Rugrats is so appealing. It could just be the nostalgia, or maybe it’s that everything looked big from the babies’ point of view. Whatever it is, it looks like a fun house to visit.

'Beauty and the Beast'

'Beauty and the Beast'
Walt Disney Studios

The Beast’s castle in Beauty and the Beast is incredible. It somehow sits on a cliff and has forbidden rooms and talking furniture. And it’s got the world’s best library. Sure, taking residence there might be a living nightmare, but it would be a great venue for a party.

'One Hundred and One Dalmatians'

'One Hundred and One Dalmatians'
Walt Disney Productions via YouTube

The dogs in One Hundred and One Dalmatians sure lucked out because the house they get to live in at the end of the movie is so charming. There might be a few too many dogs in one space to really get comfortable, but we would settle for a home tour.

11 of 20

'The Jetsons'

'The Jetsons'
ABC via YouTube

Who, in the history of watching television, has seen an episode of The Jetsons and not wanted to visit their home? It’s got futuristic decor and a great view. Plus, there are tons of technological conveniences. And it would be so awesome to have to take a spaceship to get up to your living quarters.

'Aladdin'

'Aladdin'
Walt Disney Studios

Aladdin’s living quarters aren’t exactly desirable, but Jasmine’s palace looks amazing. You’d want to look out for her pet tiger, but there’s plenty of space to roam, so that wouldn’t be much of an issue.

'DuckTales'

'DuckTales'
Walt Disney Television Animation via YouTube

The powers that be have taken the time to figure it out, and they’ve determined that Scrooge McDuck is one of the richest animated characters of all time. And it’s apparent in the McDuck Manor as seen on DuckTales. It would be a legendary visit.

'Bob’s Burgers'

'Bob’s Burgers'
Fox

Part of the reason we’d like to visit the Belcher apartment in Bob’s Burgers is because we’d like to eat at the restaurant. But we’d also just love to hang out with the Belcher family.

'Cinderella'

'Cinderella'
Walt Disney Studios

Everywhere Cinderella gets to live in the movie is amazing. We’d be happy to visit her house or Prince Charming’s palace. But considering her house also has her evil stepmother and her stepsisters, we’d visit Prince Charming’s palace first.

'The Flintstones'

'The Flintstones'
ABC/Hanna-Barbera Productions

So much about the life of the characters in The Flintstones is idyllic, despite living in the Stone Age. Actually, living in Bedrock would have its challenges, but spending the night there would be a fun version of camping.

'Tangled'

'Tangled'
Walt Disney Studios

Being trapped inside a tower until you’re 18 would be unspeakably awful, but if you’re going to be stuck anywhere, the tower that Rapunzel was trapped inside in Tangled wouldn’t be the worst option. We wouldn’t want to be there for as long as she was, but a night or two would be great.

18 of 20

'The Powerpuff Girls'

'The Powerpuff Girls'
Cartoon Network via YouTube

The house where the Powerpuff Girls live — Utonium Residence — is the bomb. It’s ultra modern and the layout is perfect for three little girls who need to leave at a moment’s notice to fight evil.

19 of 20

'The Little Mermaid'

'The Little Mermaid'
Walt Disney Studios

While it would be very pleasant to stay at Prince Eric’s castle, we’d way rather go down to the palace where King Triton lives. It would be a much more difficult journey, and we wouldn’t be able to stay as long, but even a swim through would be worth the trouble.

'Mulan'

'Mulan'
Walt Disney Feature Animation via YouTube

All the Disney princesses live in beautiful homes. The Fa family home in Mulan sits on a gorgeous property and has a stunning, unique layout. Visiting this home would be a completely different experience than visiting any other animated home.
