New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor sent the crowd at Citi Field into a frenzy with what turned out to be a series-winning grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was just the second-ever playoff grand slam in Mets history, with Lindor joining Edgardo Alfonzo in 1999. Phillies reliever Carlos Estevez served a meatball to Lindor, who drilled it 398 feet into the New York night at 109.5 miles per hour off the bat according to Baseball Savant, and got a joke out of owner Steve Cohen.
“That 341 is looking pretty freakin’ good right now,” he told Mike Puma of the “New York Post,” after the game, talking about the 10-year, $341 million contract he received some criticism for giving Lindor in 2021.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. After splitting with the Atlanta Braves in the funky double header on Sept. 30 to get into the playoffs, Lindor and the Mets are now just four games away from their first World Series appearance since “Mr. Smile,” was a rookie in Cleveland in 2015. With that being said, can you name the active players with at least seven home runs in the MLB postseason?
Good luck!
